My primary research interests are in the area of clinical problems of smell and taste: their evaluation, etiologies, and prognoses. In addition, I have a long-standing interest in developmental changes in chemosensation, at both ends of the life span, as well as in interactions between oral irritants (capsaicin, CO₂) and tastes.
