My current research mainly focuses on comparative mammalian molecular genetics of taste. The goals of the research programs include cloning and identification of genes related to taste in different species of mammals as well as functionally expressing these genes in an in vitro system. This work will add valuable information to our understanding of genome function and evolution of taste perception in mammals.
