Annual Fund
The Annual Fund provides resources that directly impact the research
conducted at Monell. It allows for unrestricted funds that enable
innovative research projects and contributes to the infrastructure
that keeps the Center operational day-to-day.
Morley R. Kare Fellowship Fund
Established in 1990 as a tribute to Monell’s founder and
first director, the Morley R. Kare Fellowship Fund helps launch
research careers in the chemical senses. Through the Fund, promising
junior faculty receive needed research and salary support while
establishing a research program at Monell. Click here for a list

Planned Giving through your Will
You can include the Monell Center in your will or contribute

Honorary and Memorial Contributions
Honor a friend or loved one by contributing a gift to Monell in their name.
You can remember a deceased colleague or family member through a memorial
contribution.
TMAU (Trimethylaminuria) Research Fund
Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) is a genetically-transmitted metabolic
disorder that causes patients to give off an unpleasant body
odor. As part of Monell’s research program on the origin,
chemistry, and function of human body odors, the Center is
one of only a few places in the world to provide evaluation
and definitive
diagnosis for TMAU. All gifts to this fund will directly
benefit TMAU research and patient testing. For more

IRA Charitable Rollover Gift
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA 2006) created a new charitable
planning opportunity—the IRA Charitable Rollover Gift—under
which an IRA owner age 70½ or older may make a direct
transfer to the Monell Chemical Senses Center. The PPA Act provides
this option for 2007 with a transfer of up to $100,000. Please
consult your tax advisor or investment consultant on this matter.
Matching Gifts
Your company may match your financial contribution, making your
