Monells research into the mechanisms and functions of the chemical
senses attracts the interest of industrial organizations from around the world.
Many of these organizations have developed a productive relationship with
Monell through the Centers Corporate Sponsorship Program. Currently, more
than 50 leading corporations from the food, beverage, fragrance,
pharmaceutical, chemical and other industries provide unrestricted annual
support to the Center. By supporting basic research at Monell, sponsoring
corporations can allocate a larger percentage of their own research time and
funding to more applied projects.
Corporate
partners are afforded many exclusive benefits at Monell. These
include:
- Consultations with Monell scientists. Forums might include individual
meetings, roundtable discussions or formal presentations at either Monell or
the companys facility.
- Invitations
to specialized meetings, symposia and conferences.
- Ability to
initiate and participate in confidential collaborative research projects on
topics of mutual interest.
- Opportunity
to assign company personnel to work at Monell for training or collaborative
research projects.
- Access to a
unique and highly specialized employment base. Post-doctoral fellows trained at
Monell are frequently hired by sponsor companies upon completion of their
training
at Monell.
- Rights to
license inventions resulting from collaborative projects and right of first
refusal for licensing other technologies developed by Monell.
