Research Staff Openings- All positions require a Bachelors degree in the appropriate field (s) and experience as indicated. Research Technician We are seeking to fill a full time (35 hours per week) technician position to assist in studies involving human taste and smell. Responsibilities include recruiting and testing subjects; preparation of stimuli; library work; data entry; generation of computer graphics and general laboratory maintenance. Work on evenings and weekends will be required. BA/BS degree is required, preferably in psychology, biology, or a related field, and experience with databases and statistical analysis is preferred. Scientific Staff Openings - All positions require a Ph.D. or M.D. in the appropriate field(s) and experience as indicated Postoctoral Position Postdoctoral position is available at the Monell Chemical Senses Center to study molecular biology of taste perception. Work in this laboratory focuses on gene expression profiles for individual cells in a taste bud and the roles of differentially expressed genes in different types of taste bud cells, using bioinformatic, biochemical, molecular, genetic and physiological methods (see Nature Neurosci.2:1055-1062; Nature Genet.28:58-63, Nature Neurosci.5:1169-1176, JBC 280:36150-36157). Position is available immediately. Requirements include a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, genetics or neuroscience. Stipend is in accordance with NIH standards. Information Technology Openings Network Administrator We are seeking an experienced network administrator to work as a mid-level member of a small IT team. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining and deploying network infrastructure and server applications. Additional responsibilities may vary depending on the interests and skills of the successful candidate. A bachelor degree and 2+ years of experience managing Windows/Linux servers and LAN/WAN infrastructure are required.
