I’m a family doctor pursuing a fellowship in integrative medicine, which incorporates complementary health approaches with Western medicine. As a dog owner, I was interested to learn about Monell’s work with dogs detecting cancer using scent and wanted to support your cause.

I most recently owned a restaurant in Philadelphia, but before that I got my degree in biology and worked at Monell in the 1970s, when it was just getting established. I support Dr. Preti’s research because I appreciate the role that working dogs are playing to detect cancer in its earliest stages and also how that is being translated by Monell to identify a chemical signature that can be used to program a diagnostic sensor. I have a friend whose sister died of ovarian cancer, so it’s personal.
