2006 Program

The Summer Research Apprecticeship Program for the 2006 year has come to a close. We would like to thank everyone who made this year's program a fun and exciting summer.

Another summer has flown by! Each student worked in the laboratory of a Monell scientist. Students received stipends while meeting the challenges of serious responsibilities in research projects such as the genetic and chemical analyses of human body odors; the development of taste preferences in children; histological studies of taste bud tissues; and the neuropathology of diseases in cats. They also attended a weekly lecture series to learn about recent scientific findings in the field of taste and smell research. At the end of the summer, they presented their research findings in poster presentations open to scientists, staff and family members.
