We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Kunio Yamazaki Distinguished Lectureship which will bring eminent speakers to Monell whose research interests and areas of expertise were central to Dr. Yamazaki’s academic career, which focused on seminal work on odortypes, the genetically-determined body odors that distinguish one individual of a species from another. Dr. Yamazaki published over 100 papers, mainly in high-impact scientific journals, on genes of the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) and how these genes influence odortype and behavior.

We have obtained an anonymous lead gift of $25,000 towards our goal of raising a minimum of $100,000 so that this Lectureship can honor our colleague for many years into the future. We expect to welcome the first Kunio Yamazaki Distinguished Lecturer to Monell in 2014.

We invite you to contribute to the Fund. To do so:

1) Send checks payable to Monell Chemical Senses Center, 3500 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-3308 (Attention: Jenifer Trachtman, Director of Development) OR

2) Click here to make a secure online gift by credit card.

All contributions will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. If you have questions about the Fund, or if you know of someone else who might like to participate in this project, please contact Jenifer Trachtman (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), Phone: 267-519-4715).
