The Annual Fund helps Monell do what it does best – advance discovery. Donations to the Annual Fund supplement funds received from research grants to give Monell’s scientists the freedom to pursue promising findings and experiment with innovative ideas. This essential flexibility opens new doors to new solutions that ultimately advance health and well-being.
MORLEY R. KARE FELLOWSHIP FUND
Honor the vision of Monell’s founder and first director, Dr. Morley Kare, by helping to support a promising young scientist. Your gift will provide salary and research funding for innovative junior faculty as they establish their research programs at Monell.

TMAU (TRIMETHYLAMINURIA) RESEARCH FUND
Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) is a genetically-transmitted metabolic disorder that causes patients to give off an unpleasant body odor. As part of Monell’s research program on the origin, chemistry, and function of human body odors, the Center is one of only a few places in the world to provide evaluation and definitive diagnosis for TMAU. All gifts to this fund will directly benefit TMAU research and patient testing.
